Here are some examples that you can refer to for inspiration. We will be making a 5x4" greeting card using a linocut block.
Here is how we will be transferring our image onto the block and how we will be cutting the image out.
............................................................................................................................................................................
Project Instructions:
Step One ::
Create a simple design in a 5x4" rectangle. It can also be something that you have printed out from the computer. This design will be submitted to Mrs. Sundberg for approval before any cutting of the block.
Things to Keep in Mind
Step Two ::
Transfer your image to the block and cut it out!
Step Three ::
Create 15 mixed media prints. These will be counted as three separate journal entries. (Five per entry.) Each set of FIVE entries will be worth 10 points each. Journal entries are worth 15% of your grade.
Choose your best three and submit for a project grade. Each one will be worth 20 points each. Projects are worth 75% of your grade and will be graded using a
rubric.
Mixed media - A technique involving the use of two or more artistic media, such as ink and oil pastel, ink and paint, ink and watercolor, ink and marker, ink and crayon, ink and color pencil etc etc, that are combined
in a single composition.
See me individually for mixed media ideas! :)

Things to Keep in Mind
- Letters need to be cut in their mirror image so that they can be printed correctly.
- Do not design something that is overly complicated - it will be very hard to cut.
- If you create a design that includes negative space you can add more to your printed design by hand.
